We would like to move our applications and domains to another Bytemark server using the new Stretch Symbiosis.
To test in real world conditions we would like to move one live domain and run it on the new server for 24 hours. The domain uses LetsEncrypt SSL certificates installed using Symbiosis. Our domains are managed using DNS Made Easy.
We intend to do this in our temporary switch:
1. On new server, we install the application and run sudo symbiosis-ssl --verbose mydomain.com. We will force https for all pages by adding “ssl-only”.
2. Amend DNS Made Easy to point the DNS for to mydomain.com to the new server.
3. Once we have run for a day we will switch the DNS back to the old server in DNS Made Easy.
Are there any delays or problems with SSL or is it as simple and quick as doing that?
Thanks for your input.
